Thomas Hanson

Global Trade Advisory: Tom Hanson established Channel Architect LLC, a certified small business, after more than 30 years of progressive experience successfully guiding companies and governments to achieve trade and investment success in complex international markets. He specializes in building global teams and marketing channels, as well as leading multicultural brand ownership strategies.
U.S. Government Service: In 2023, Tom concluded a 12-year tenure serving as a Commercial Officer for the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service in international locations, including Bucharest, Romania; Washington, DC; New Orleans; Calgary, Canada; and São Paulo, Brazil. In this role, he strengthened the international competitiveness of American businesses and communities by promoting exports, attracting foreign direct investment, and ensuring access to free and fair trade.
Private Sector Leadership: Prior to government service, Tom worked as a global channels advisor based in Southern California, contributing to the San Diego–Imperial District Export Council and focusing on North America's trilateral trade and investment policies (from NAFTA to USMCA).
Languages & Education: Tom is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian, with conversational French. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and is originally from Portland, Oregon.
